Day 7: Favorite Lana Del Rey Lyric

Day 7: Favorite Lana Del Rey Lyric

Ahh, this is another hard one. Her lyrics are so lyrically beautiful. The 2 songs I had to choose between choosing my favorite lyric were ‘Oh Say Can You See’ and ‘Pawn Shop Blues’! I love dem both songs, whether it’s the lyrics and the tune of it, it’s just blends in so perfectly and flawlessly together.

And I chose ‘Pawn Shop Blues’ over the latter because… it kind of defines her music more than the others, because the lyrics instantly reminds me of something she mentioned in one of interviews, “I am usually always singing about the same god damn person so I will love him forever but you know, it’s all good. It’s all good!” And this is it>>>

“Cause it’s nice to love and be loved, but it’s better to know all you can know. I said it’s nice to love and be loved but I’d rather know what God knows.”

Here for the full lyrics.

Day 6: Favorite Lana Del Rey Photoshoot

Outtakes by Bella Howard

My favorite Lana Del Rey photoshoot would be the one for ‘Vogue Australia’, which I’ve posted it on my blog previously here.

Since I’ve posted it before, I’ll post another favorite photoshoot of her, which is the one of the outtakes photoshoot by Bella Howard!

Well, I love this one because it portrays her as an ‘American Gurl’; the american pride that she stands for. The American flag and the Cola bottle~ This photoshoot was taken in 2011 and coincidentally,  ‘American’ and ‘Cola’ are 2 soundtracks from her ‘Paradise Edition’ album, released this year (2012).

It’s not everything, of course! There’s more, but I couldn’t find them all.

Day 2: Favorite Lana Del Rey Music Video

Day 2: Favorite Lana Del Rey Music Video

National Anthem

>>> The first music video of hers with an epilogue, and inspired by a true story, which makes it so emotional. So every time I listen to ‘National Anthem’, it just instantly reminds me of the love story between JFK and Jackie O. Spoiler: Putting JFK’s affairs aside first.

And I remember when I met him,
it was so clear that he was the only one for me.
We both knew it, right away.

And as the years went on, things got more difficult,
we were faced with more challenges.
I begged him to stay,
Try to remember what we had at the beginning.

He was charismatic,
magnetic,
electric,
and everybody knew it.

When he walked in, every woman’s head turned,
everyone stood up to talk to him.
He was like this hybrid;
this mix of a man who couldn’t contain himself.

I always got the sense that he became torn
between being a good person and missing out
on all of the opportunities that life could offer
a man as magnificent as him.

And in that way I… understood him.
And I loved him…
I loved him,
I loved him,
I loved him.

And I still love him.
I love him.

Day 1: Favorite Lana Del Rey Song

Day 1: Favorite Lana Del Rey Song

Radio

>>> it was the very first Lana Del Rey song that I fell in love with upon listening to it for the first time, among all the other tracks in ‘Born to Die’ album :’)

American dreams came true somehow,
I swore I’d chase them till I was dead.
I heard the streets were paved with gold,
That’s what my father said.

No one even knows what life was like.
Now I’m in LA and it’s paradise,
I finally found you.
Now sing it to me,

Now my life is sweet like cinnamon,
Like a f*cking dream I’m living in.

All the random things.

Again, it’s been a long time ever since I blogged. A lot things have happened, or maybe it’s just how I feel. I saw Lana Del Rey on the 24th October 2012. We didn’t really met, but I gave her my letter swiftly and took a really quick, blurry picture with her. The people I went with; met her, talked to her and kissed her. Um, I felt a little regretful… and… grateful! It was definitely more than what I expected about 2-3 weeks ago when I found out that she was coming to Singapore and I’m glad.

…..

It’s 5th week of school and I’m having the first round of ICAs starting next week. I don’t know whether I can cope with it but I’m werking, hard but maybe not so smart. I’ve been blindly flipping my notes almost every single day and then the revised content disappears in my mind, the moment I closed my book. Ugh I don’t know…
